If I was only able to choose one word to describe my experience at my internship, it would be unforgettable. I am choosing this word because in the past three days working at RBF have been the best days. I have learned so many things these past days, from knowing how to read plans to learning how to use a scale.
When I first received a grading plan and I was taught how to read it, It immediately reminded me of 8th grade, my first Engineering class. Ever since I took that class, I was sure I wanted to pursue a career as an Engineer or and Architect.
This internship just made it clear that I could one day
I am working on my internship become and Engineer or Architect. Everyday is something
project on the photo above new. I really do not know what to expect. One minute I could be looking at grading plans and figuring out what the plans mean, and the second minute I could be on my way to a site visit, or going out to the city, and that is something that I love about this internship. I am not always just sitting down in an office, I am able to experience new opportunities. As I am learning something new everyday, it gets much easier to understand engineers. I remember the first day, I had to go to a meeting, and I did not understand a word they were saying, and I still do not know half of the things they say. But if they are pointing at something in the plans or are talking about contours, or elevation I know what they are saying. I am learning new vocabulary everyday, and what I love about this, is I remember what it is because it is something that interests me.
Every morning I wake up at 6, at 7 o'clock I have to start heading to Brian's house (another HTHCV student that has the same internship) and at 7:15 - 7:20 we are on our way to work. I am anxious to see what I will be doing the rest of my time here, at RBF Consulting.
