Commentary for Snapshot for Comic Strip: The Hunger Games
The scene I have chosen for my snapshot comic strip is one of the most important events of the story. When Katniss and Peeta already found out that they are both going to be in the games again, and have the ceremonies. It begins when Cinna is getting Katniss ready for the ceremony where all the tributes get presented, and Katniss is eager to try her costume on for the ceremony. Cinna has always done the headlamps or fire costumes but this time it was the most unique of them all. Katniss was ready to head out to the remake center where every tribute meets before the ceremony. When she was there she didn’t recognize anyone so she just sat there, about ten minutes later Peeta came. He had an identical outfit like katniss. It was time for the ceremony but they couldn’t find Portia or Cinna. The ceremony had to start with or without them. They found them at the end of the ceremony, and Portia and Cinna couldn’t wait to tell them what a great job they did.
I chose this scene because the ceremony presented all the tributes before the games. It was a way so they can all know each other, but also present the tributes to the world so they can know who they are when they start the games. The ceremony leads to training and the training leads to the games. I also chose this scene because I liked how the author described the costume that Katniss was wearing.
I depicted the scene using color because in the book when it was describing the costume I could imagine the gold color and the gold turning to red, orange and yellow. Also drew the people like that because it gives it a real life form of body even though it doesn’t look like a real person and it kind of looks awkward, I put it like that so the costumes would look how it was described in the book.. On some of the cells I put stick figures because it was various people and not just two or three. I used triangles, Horizontal and vertical lines and also circles.
